Care and Maintenance: Keeping Your Trivet Looking New

At Trivet Creator, our goal is to provide you with functional art that enhances your dining experience without adding another chore to your list. Thanks to our 1/4" American steel construction and industrial-grade high-heat finishes, our trivets are incredibly low maintenance.

Unlike wood that needs to be oiled, or brass that needs to be polished to prevent tarnishing, our steel requires almost zero upkeep.

Everyday Cleaning (Light Spills)

The vast majority of the time, your trivet simply won't need cleaning. If a hot pan leaves behind a small drip of sauce or a ring of condensation, the fix is effortless.

Instructions:

  1. Let the trivet cool completely to room temperature.
  2. Take a soft, damp rag or microfiber cloth.
  3. Gently wipe the surface clean.

Because our ceramic and powder coat finishes are non-porous and incredibly smooth, light spills wipe away instantly without staining or embedding into the surface.

Deep Cleaning (Bigger Messes)

Occasionally, a bubbling casserole might overflow, leaving baked-on cheese or heavy grease on your trivet. Because our finishes are baked on at extreme temperatures, you don't need to worry about aggressive cleaning damaging the coating.

Instructions:

  1. Wait for the trivet to cool entirely.
  2. Bring the trivet to the sink.
  3. Hand wash using warm water and standard dish soap.
  4. Use a sponge or soft-bristled brush to remove any stuck-on debris.
  5. Towel dry immediately to prevent water spots.

What NOT to Do

To guarantee the lifetime durability of your trivet's finish:

  • Do not put it in the dishwasher: The harsh, caustic detergents used in modern dishwashers can degrade the powder coating over years of repeated exposure. Hand washing is always the safest method.
  • Do not use steel wool or abrasive scouring pads: While the finish is tough, aggressive abrasives can scratch the protective top layer, dulling its appearance and eventually exposing the raw steel underneath to moisture.

By following these simple steps, your trivet will remain a pristine, protective centerpiece for generations.
